Hand in hand, Andrew and I walked along the cobbled streets of
the famous Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland. He had been eager to introduce me
to his native land and this summer he had whisked me away. All day, we had
traced the footsteps of time through royal palaces, abbey ruins, and botanic
gardens. As the sun began to set, we walked through the magnificent gates of
Edinburgh Castle. We would walk through a maze of splendid halls and stone passages.
He let go of my hand and covered my eyes, easing me forward gently. After
several hesitant steps, we suddenly stopped. Adrenaline and anticipation mixed
inside me. He removed his hands. In front of me lay the majestic cityscape of
Edinburgh, silhouetted against a sunset of fiery red and orange. Before I could
speak, Andrew spoke to me, gesturing toward the skyline. "Amy, all of this stretches Beyond Eternity. A history
without end. Marry me, and let's start our own story. It could be as timeless as
this." As he said it, he slipped on my finger an exquisite CallaTMCut diamond engagement
ring. I pulled him close and whispered my answer. I was ready to make history.
